We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you to more deeply love your faith. Whether you are a Catholic desiring a deeper knowledge of your faith or someone exploring the possibility of joining the Catholic Church, these classes for RCIA (Rite of Catholic Initiation of Adults) will provide answers to many questions you may have about Catholicism. Undoubtedly these classes will also raise new questions as you continue to learn. RCIA has a two-fold goal of catechizing (instructing in faith) and incorporating the new or even peripheral member more deeply into the Catholic Church and the St. Laurence Catholic parish community, through study, friendship, shared experiences, but most importantly, prayer and the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation. During these months of study your attendance at Sunday Mass will be required. Classes begin in September every Sunday at 10:30 am to 11:30 am, and will meet weekly through the beginning of Holy Week of the following year. The culmination of this process is in the Easter Vigil Mass, when participants will become fully initiated members in the Catholic Church receiving whatever Sacraments of Initiation they may be lacking (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation). The parish will then get back to you with more information. Please be aware that if you are seeking Confirmation and are presently in any type of marriage or union that has not been blessed by the Church or celebrated by a Catholic priest, it will likely require some steps to get it validated by the Church (which often takes a year to do) before you will be able to be confirmed. Our priests will be happy to help you get started in this process. You may attend classes this year (and this is even suggested) but you will not be able to complete the process until the following Easter, one and a half years from now, when you will be confirmed.

Tenemos deseo de conocerle y ayudarle amar su fe más profundamente.
